Some gatherings remind the design community why the work matters – bringing people together to exchange ideas, discover new materials, and celebrate the craft behind the spaces they create. This year’s Interior Design Society National Conference was one of them.
From September 28 – 30, Dulcet Tile joined designers, makers, and industry partners at the Bellagio in Las Vegas for the 2026 IDS National Conference, marking the brand’s first time attending as a Platinum Sponsor.
More than 200 design professionals gathered throughout the conference for CEU sessions, showroom visits at the World Market Center, and opportunities to connect with peers across the industry. The event concluded with the Designer of the Year Awards Gala, emceed by Carson Kressley.
For Dulcet Tile, the experience centered around a simple question: Design Is a Statement. What Is Yours?
WHY NATURAL STONE STILL MATTERS
On opening day, Dulcet Tile Vice President Murat Gurcan took the stage to introduce the keynote address by Roger Thomas, who helmed the design of Wynn Resorts for 40 years. Thomas shared how breaking the rules can lead to the most memorable and meaningful design solutions.
Murat’s remarks, titled “Why Natural Stone Still Matters,” argued that marble endures in a market of fast trends and faster substitutes. Every vein is singular, and the materials clients remember are the ones that feel unmistakably real. The takeaway was simple: respect the material, including its imperfection, variation, and character.
The conversation continued throughout the conference at the Dulcet Tile table display on the Bellagio ballroom floor, where designers stopped by to see the stone up close, ask questions, and share their own perspectives on working with natural materials.
BEYOND THE STAGE
Between conference sessions, the Dulcet Tile team – including its West, Southeast, and Northeast Regional Sales Managers – connected with designers from across the country who work with stone every day. Conversations often returned to Dulcet Tile’s marble mosaics and the craftsmanship behind them, with the team sharing more about how each piece is shaped by hand.
The team also shared exclusive Dulcet Tile merchandise with attendees, adding a small touch of the brand to the experience.
On the final evening, Dulcet Tile’s short film was shown during the Designer of the Year Awards Gala, bringing the brand’s presence to the evening’s celebration.
WHAT COMES NEXT
For Dulcet Tile, the IDS Conference was an opportunity to connect directly with the design community it serves – and many of those conversations will continue beyond Las Vegas.
As the brand looks ahead, the next chapter centers on continuing to build those relationships, introducing designers to new collections, and creating more opportunities to experience its materials in person. At the heart of that work is a belief Dulcet Tile has carried from the beginning: quiet luxury comes down to restraint and material honesty, letting the stone speak for itself.
For now, the question remains the same: Design Is a Statement. What Is Yours?
